Built in 2008, Ariel West at 245 West 99th street features 32 stories and 90 superbly designed two to five bedroom units. This extraordinary glass tower offers a sensual blend of lavish materials, gracious interior detailing, modern technology and an astounding array of family amenities.

Problem:Classic High-Rise building Stack Effect and air balancing issue

Residence of Ariel West experienced extremely uncomfortable conditions in common hallways throughout the entire building.

During the winter months, the upper floors common hallways would get unbearably hot, while the lower floors got extremely cold. This was the results of classic stack effect.

In modern high-rise building with well-sealed envelopes, the stack effect can create significant pressure differences.  Such pressure differences can cause significant air imbalance resulting in colder temperatures in upper floors and warmer temperatures in lower floors during the summer months and the reverse during the winter months.

Solution: eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators (CAR’s) were installed to Automatically Balance Airflow.
 
eFlow-CARs correct stack effect. These devices compensate for changes in duct pressure caused by thermal stack effect and building pressure. Tall building ventilation systems become severely out of balance due to fluctuations in environmental conditions. Thanks to eFlow Constant Airflow Regulators, The New York State Psychiatric Institute in NYC, now meets the AAALAC’s (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) strict Indoor Air Quality standards!

Moxy Hotel

Another Marriott Brand hotel, to feature  eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators!

Moxy is Marriott’s national brand of “affordable luxury” hotels. Developed by Lightstone Group,the 13-story building at 112 East 11th Street spans 78,361 square feet and has  311 rooms, for an average size of about 250 square feet per room. In addition, the building features a restaurant and lounge in the cellar, a fitness center on the second floor, and a restaurant on the top level. The hotel is expected to open later this year.

Marriott is well known for providing an exceptional guest experience.  The designers of Marriott hotels strive to eliminate factors that could negatively impact the guest experience such as  poor ventilation and odors. Caribe Hilton Hotel

eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators (CAR) installed at the Caribe Hilton Hotel, located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

Ventilation accounts for 40 percent of the energy consumption in most buildings.
