Installation of eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators is complete at Claremont Hall!

Claremont Hall located at 100 Claremont Ave is a luxury mixed-use academic and residential building adjacent to the Columbia University campus in the heart of Manhattan’s Morningside Heights neighborhood.

Developed by Lendlease and L+M Development Partners and designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and SLCE Architects, this 41 story building offers 165 units  of modern living spaces with high-end amenities and features.

This building was designed as a sustainable building, utilizing the latest technologies and leading the way to reducing carbon footprint.  As a result Claremont Hall earned LEED Certification.

One of the innovative technologies installed in the building during its construction was the eFlow-Constant Airflow regulator. eFlow-CARs were installed in each of the building’s residential units, allowing for continuous ventilation and ensuring a healthy indoor environment for residents.

The eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulator is a cutting-edge device that ensures consistent airflow in a building’s ventilation system, regardless of external factors such as wind or pressure changes. This ensures that the indoor air quality remains consistent, even in high-rise buildings like 100 Claremont Ave, which are more susceptible to fluctuations in air pressure.

By installing eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators, 100 Claremont Ave provides its residents with several benefits, including improved indoor air quality, reduced energy consumption, and increased cost savings. The regulators help to maintain a consistent temperature throughout the building, which reduces the need for heating and cooling systems, resulting in energy savings and lower utility bills.

Additionally, the eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators help to prevent the build-up of harmful pollutants and allergens in the air, which can be particularly problematic for individuals with respiratory issues. This results in a healthier and more comfortable indoor environment for all residents.

eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators (CARs) were installed at Melrose North building located at 341 E. 162nd street in the South Bronx, NY. eFlow worked directly with Air Craft Air Conditioning, the Mechanical Contractor for this project, to supply Constant Airflow Regulators (CARs) that are economical, efficient and backed by our unsurpassed customer service. About Melrose North

Designed to Passive House and LEED Gold standards, Melrose North will significantly reduce environmental impact and provide a healthy living environment. The specifications for this building will meet community goals and will ensure that the project will remain financially viable in the long-term. Steven Winter Associates, Inc. is providing consulting and verification services to help meet Passive House, LEEDv4 standards and requirements. This includes ensuring primary energy conservation measurements; 1.solar photovoltaics 2.optimized hydronic heating 3.unique window design 4.energy recovery ventilation. Installation of eFlow -Constant Airflow Regulators is a proven measure to help meet standards for successful Passive House and LEED certification by ensuring that the building achieves optimal energy recovery ventilation.

This 154, 500 SF project is being developed  through a partnership between  Bronx Pro Group and the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). This development will provide 171 units of supportive and affordable housing, 103 units of which will be set aside for homeless households. The remaining 67 units will be allocated to  households earning at or below 80 percent of area median income. Curtis + Ginsberg Architects is responsible for the design of the 14-story building, which will include 51 studio apartments, 53 one-bedroom apartments, 55 two-bedroom apartments, and 11 three-bedroom apartments. There will be one additional unit for a live-in superintendent. Skyline Engineering is the MEP design engineer for this project.

About eFlow-CAR

eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulator (CAR) is a low-cost solution for balancing ventilation systems, eliminating the need for on-site balancing and ongoing maintenance. The Constant Airflow Regulator’s control of airflow is essential to optimize energy consumption while providing good air quality. eFlow-CARs are  UL 2043 Classified (R38307) devices that automatically adjust to environmental changes in stack pressure and accurately regulate airflow. Constant Airflow Regulators are self-regulating and adjustable flow-regulators used in commercial and residential buildings. The desired airflow is fixed by a screwdriver. It is automatically calibrated to varying pressures without the need for electricity. Constant Airflow Regulators save energy by precisely controlling airflow into or out of a space. This is accomplished regardless of static pressure while providing good air quality.

eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulator (CAR’s) were installed in parts of American Express headquarters building in order to combat unbalanced ventilation and bad odor concerns.

3″ CARs at 25 CFM were installed for controlled exhaust and 6″ CARs at 130 CFM were used for fresh air supply. Mounting plate transitions were utilized for both applications.

200 Vesey Street, also known as the American Express Tower, is one of four towers that comprise the Brookfield Place complex in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan in New York City. The building is an example of postmodern architecture, as designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates, and contains over 2.1 million square feet of rentable office area.

This building suffered sever damage by the falling debris when the World Trade Center towers collapsed on September 11, 2001. The building had to be closed for repairs from September 11, 2001 until May 2002 as a result of damage sustained in the terrorist attacks.

WB Engineers is responsible for mechanical updates, including specification of constant airflow regulators (CAR’s) to address unbalanced ventilation concerns.

The Spiral, 66 Hudson Boulevard, New York, NY

The Spiral is expected to be completed in late 2021 and will feature eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulators!

About The Spiral

Developed by Tishman Speyer and designed by Bjarke Ingeks Group (BIG) Architects, the Spiral is located at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards, Manhattan, New York City. When completed, this 2.85-million-square-foot skyscraper will have 65-floors and will stand 1,005 feet tall. This building is sustainable by design and showcases many  innovative features. Turner Construction Company is the construction manager, WSP  is the structure engineer firm and Cosentini Associates, Inc  is the MEP Engineering firm on record.

The Spiral is aiming to achieve LEED Gold Standard.

Majority of the building is already pre-leased with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, Law firm Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and AllianceBernstein.

CAR Installation was undertaken by PJ Mechanical/ Delta Sheet Metal Corp.  Mechanical Technologies facilitated the sale of eFlow products for this project.

AMLI 808 North Wells Street Chicago, IL

Developed by AMLI Residential, 808 North Wells building is being built to achieve LEED Gold® certification. AMLI Residential focuses on the development, construction and management of environmentally responsible luxury apartment communities throughout the country . This includes installation of eFlow -Constant Airflow Regulators for automatically balanced ventilation, high indoor air quality and energy efficiency.  808 North Wells will feature 318 smart rental apartments ranging from studio to two-bedrooms, and will include multiple amenity floors as well as nearly 4,700 square feet of ground floor commercial space.

Walsh Construction is the project’s general contractor. Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture is the project’s design architect, with NORR as the architect of record.

AMLI 808 is expected to be complete in late spring 2021.

eFlow-Constant Airflow Regulator (CAR) is a low-cost solution for balancing ventilation systems, eliminating the need for on-site balancing and ongoing maintenance. The Constant Airflow Regulator’s control of airflow is essential to optimize energy consumption while providing good air quality. eFlow-CARs are  UL 2043 Classified (R38307) devices that automatically adjust to environmental changes in stack pressure and accurately regulate airflow. Constant Airflow Regulators are self-regulating and adjustable flow-regulators used in commercial and residential buildings. The desired airflow is fixed by a screwdriver. It is automatically calibrated to varying pressures without the need for electricity. Constant Airflow Regulators save energy by precisely controlling airflow into or out of a space. This is accomplished regardless of static pressure while providing good air quality.
